Intense Pulsed Light/IPL

Want to remove years of sun-damage in a few days? How about annoying broken capillaries, freckles, and pigment marks? Or Rosacea, redness or flushing?

IPL is usually the answer to these problems and at Envisage Clinic IPL has been used for over 12 years – since its introduction into Australia in 1996. So you know that you are being treated by practitioners with many years of experience and many thousands of satisfied clients.

Research has demonstrated that clearing sun damage from the skin can take many years, sometimes over ten, off the apparent age of a person. IPL simply gives a much smoother, clearer complexion and goes a long way to restoring the skins natural clarity and colouration.

IPL is gentle enough to be effective on other areas such as the neck, décolletage, and hands.

Essentially a bright light is flashed into the skin. In the same way that a dark coloured car absorbs more sun-light and heats up quicker than a white car on a sunny day, so darker pigment and blood vessels absorb more of the IPL light, heating them slightly and removing them from the skin. IPL, when performed correctly, is a very safe procedure and most do not need to take time off from work or social activities.

HOW IPL at Envisage Clinic Differs from elsewhere

1 – We provide a comprehensive 100% money back guarantee to most clients – you will see a visible difference in your skin after just one treatment or we will refund 100% of the cost of your treatment – no questions asked.

2 – Experience. Envisage Clinic has probably more experience in IPL than any other clinic in Australia. Dr Leat has been using IPL since 1966 and about 10,000 treatments have been performed at Envisage Clinic.

3 – Safety. IPL is only performed by Dr Leat and experienced Cosmetic Registered Nurses at Envisage Clinic. Our safety record is excellent.

4 – Minimum treatments. Although most clinics offering IPL recommend a series of 5-6 treatments, in most cases we achieve excellent results with only 1-2 treatments. This greatly reduces the expense and time of treatments.

5 – Discomfort. We routinely use anaesthetic gel pre treatment. This reduces the discomfort of IPL treatment from a fairly intense experience to a very mild discomfort.

6 – Medical Grade Treatment. Not only is the IPL machine used at Envisage Clinic a gold standard in the industry, but we are able to offer full medical grade pre and post skin care where required, greatly improving the safety and effectiveness of treatments. This allows us to treat skin types and conditions not treated at other clinics. We routinely treat patients who have failed to achieve results after multiple treatments elsewhere and achieve results with just one treatment session at Envisage Clinic.

IPL and Photo-Dynamic therapy (IPL+PDT)

Photo-Dynamic therapy is the treatment of severely sun-damaged skin with an activated solution on the skin. Essentially a special solution (5-ALA) is applied prior to IPL treatment. The 5-ALA solution seeks out damaged or abnormal cells. The IPL light activates this solution, destroying the abnormal cells. The addition of photodynamic therapy (PDT) to IPL allows us to treat most sun spots (actinic keratoses) and many skin cancers. It also provides a stronger IPL treatment ideal for more sun damaged skin. PDT is only available from medical clinics.
